The Summer Sippers Wine Tasting took place at Phelan’s Interiors on Thursday, May 15th. Heavy rains fell outside, but the environment inside was anything but dampened. Over 45 people gathered to welcome the new YouthPort Coordinator, LaTaunia N. Crockett, while sampling eight wines and hors d’oeuvres. A short program recognized major donors and supporters of YouthPort and formally introduced LaTaunia to the community.
Ms. Crockett hails from Virginia and joined YouthPort in early April of this year. She received her Bachelors from Hampton University and her Masters from the University of Maryland. She has been involved with youth leadership and mentorship engagement, and she brings over 17 years of management experience. Ms. Crockett expressed her support of the YouthPort initiative and her excitement the collaboration that has taken place so far.
A portion of the event ticketsales and 10% of bottled wine sales benefited YouthPort. Special thanks to Phelan’s Interiors for hosting this fun and relaxing evening promoting community engagement and partnership.
