YouthPort had the opportunity to participate in the festivities for the “Juneteenth – A Celebration of Freedom” event on Saturday (June 21st). It was very interesting to listen to accounts presented by Dr. Kimberly Euell regarding the history and experiences of enslaved Africans and correlation it has on African American families today. Kids had a great time getting their faces painted and playing ring toss. A great time was had by all!!
