Tanager Place creates a Tourette’s Camp

Tanager Place is passionate about addressing the behavioral healthcare needs of our community.   This year a special camp was introduced for  youth who have Tourette’s Syndrome.   Tourette’s Syndrome, or TS, is a neurological condition that causes children, teens, and adults to make sounds and movements that they don’t want to make and are unable to control.   These sounds and movements are called tics.

Campers were immersed in a nurturing and supportive environment. Additionally, it provided opportunities for them to meet others who face similar challenges, form new friendships and increase their network of support.
